Browning booger

I think most would freak if they saw what my Hell's Canyon goes through.
My farm rig is a Samurai that has ATV gun mounts on the side of it.
I strap it in and go through the Tamarack thickets and mesquites
samurai with gun mounts on the side?? you need to have a pic ready of that thing for folks from down here in the south

I've got a Browning X-Bolt. Excellent rifle. I have owned the Browning A-Bolt 2 in the past as well. My X-Bolt is more accurate than my AB2 was.

I don't care for the magazines of the X-Bolt but they work.

The triggers can be lightened with an Mcarbo spring. If you can tie your shoe then you will have no problems installing the spring. Well worth the $15 dollars. I've done my own X-Bolt and my brothers. Excellent triggers after the spring.

My Browning X-Bolt is the Hells Canyon Long Range McMillan left handed 28 Nosler. Shoots very well with 1/2 MOA at 400 yds (farthest I've shot it so far). My X-Bolt shoots as good as some of my custom guns at considerably less money.

I wouldn't worry about that little booger. It'll be there when you finally wear out the gun.
Im not a fan of any rotary magazines. I wish browning would take the AB3 mag design, make it full metal and offer 5 or 10 rounders, and put it in the xbolt. id pay $120 for it... I dont care about magazines sitting flush on the stock. If folks want that offer an aluminum bdl floorplate for them.

For $150ish you can replace the trigger with a Timney that's adjustable 2-4lbs. Mine are set about 2-2.5lbs for hunting. You do lose the bolt locked feature, so something to be aware of.

Factory trigger is the biggest weakness of the X-bolt in my opinion.

Talking about the old "Dura-touch" stocks...I have two. One is fine, one is getting a bit sticky but I don't really use that rifle anymore. It's more of a loaner/backup rifle.
If you use the mcarbo spring, it's only about $15 and you don't lose the bolt lock function. Mine are easily down to 2.5 lbs....

It used to be my dedicated pig hunt rig until I lost a synchronizer and I haven't been able to find another transmission for the past 6 years 😡
I will see if I can find a picture of it

I absolutely agree with all of that

I have an X-Bolt speed I purchased last year chambered in 280 AI. It is the smoothest running action I have ever seen on a non-custom rifle. I requested question it grabbed a cartridge when I run the bolt, it is like butter. It shoots 3/4 MOA all day with monometal barnes or hornady bullets. Not as well with standard copper jacketed lead. Killed my first mule deer in Montana with it. I love it and would never sell it.

I did a baaad thing. I just ordered this- https://www.browning.com/products/firearms/rifles/x-bolt/x-bolt-wgm-maple.html

I called the distributor (nice gal) and requested .280ai and to poke around for a maple stock with some curly/tiger in it.

My 6.8W stalker has AICS cut in the action that is currently working with this rotary magazine? And I can order an AICS bottom metal from Browning that will fit it? What about metal AICS 6.8W 5 rounders? Do you know anything about those?
