Tried that too. The fore-end checkering on the stock I received from Browning was junk. It was a chewed up mess that felt like carpet. Can't understand how they would ship a product like that. If I was blind and had no sense of touch I probably wouldn't have noticed it. For $400 I expected much more. So I sent it back.

Have currently decided to order a GRS stock. Expensive but are supposed to be a quality product.

I looked at the "girls" XBolt yesterday and tried the trigger. It felt great! However that all changes when your shooting, but it had a nice store feel. I suggested to the wife we pick one up for our girls and just save for when they get older, not getting any cheaper!
