Question on grouse

Was it a S&E 422 ? I had one. Aluminum .Doesn't weigh squat. I used to carry it but bears concerned me more than grouse . Wait, mine was a semi autoI just realized I had a good story on this topic . I'm 69 now but have hunted since I was 14.
Anyway
Back in '72 a friend and I were out scouting . Driving along an old forest service road .
We spotted a blue grouse ahead of us on a clover patch . I had recently purchased a S&W 22 revolver and proudly said " I'll get him". I took three shots and missed . The bird wobbled it's head and stayed put.
My buddy got out . Pulled his sling shot and a steel ball and we had grouse for dinner.
I sold the pistol . Haven't owned one since .

That's an awesome set-up. Ruger has the Mark IV lite listed at 25oz without suppressor on their site. Can you get an actual weight on your set-up... is it really under 16oz?This was my solution. Ruger Mark IV tactical lite with a suppressor in .22LR. Weighs under a pound and very quiet. I take it with me elk hunting and never hesitate to shoot it even when we're close to elk. With subsonic ammo it will not cycle but I'm ok with a single shot and it sounds like a pellet gun!-) this thing is sooo much fun. I was able to head shot a pile of grouse this last season. No damage to breast meat is awesome

I take it with me elk hunting and never hesitate to shoot it even when we're close to elk. I have the same setup but mine cycle pretty good with most ammo

redchinviking is right. A ruger Mk lv with suppressor and red dot would be perfect. I use one here in Texas for different things while deer hunting and it is quiet , accurate and deadly. I have a 4 inch suppressor so it's handy to

In defense of everyone that mentioned a suppressor, myself included, he never mentioned he was from California or that suppressors were out of the equation. It does seem to be the most logical solution for the problem.
Yeah I saw that too. I'm not saying they're good options for him, but for everyone else curious about the same thing that lives in free America the discussion continues.
Has he even responded to any of the replies to his question? I'm betting he's just trying to get his count up. Just my guess.
Either way, as I was pondering the same thing, I came up with a 22 pistol and a suppressor in complete disregard for California laws because I don't have to regard them. I guess a wrist rocket would be my next choice, hardly as much fun though.
He actually provided an excellent option himself.
I now carry a wrist rocket. I grew up hunting birds and other tree creatures with it. For me, it is fun because it is instinctive shooting.
