I'm looking into doing anot
I'm looking into doing another long action I have a browning 7mm rem mag that I love but I want to do a 7mm in a bolt gun. I don't want to do a 28nosler stw or rum I want lots of mag room to neck out 195-197 grain bullets,
Does the LRM use a magnum bolt face or something bigger?
Three of my common builds are the 7RM, 300-7, and 28 Noslers. My 7RM set up for the Berger 195 EOL shoots right at 2940-2960fps. Cartridge oal is 3.650" which fits fine with .100" to spare into a standard Remington mag box. Low recoil. Very simple, easy load to put together. It uses new Norma or Nosler brass. My 300-7s and 28s shoot the 195 right at 3100fps. Proof Sendero barrels make it easy to get 1/2moa or better with these builds. 300-7 has a bore rider throat in it which according to PTG, will reduce the pressure donut, increase velocity, reduce chamber temps, and increase barrel life over the 28 with standard throat. 300-7 and the 28 run the same velocity but the 300-7 does it with 3grains less powder. 300-7 and 28 at 1000yds is 2030fps with 1805lbs of energy. 7RM is 1920fps with 1600lbs of energy.
