What is the the most flat shooting cartridge yall can think of?

Use the 75gr Hammer HHT on everything up to elk and don't worry about a 2 bullet solution.
We just took delivery today of a custom 220 Swift ai. Will be interesting to see what it can do. Plan with this rifle was to run our heavier Hammer HHT's. I think it will be impressive with the 57gr Hammer HHT. Hoping 4000 fps. Might be optimistic.
If just holding hair on coyotes, I think the .224 Clark or TTH deserves a mention. I haven't run charts, but it's where I might start. 50-55 grains 4300 fps, and 75-80 3700 fps.

Nonetheless, people load them, and they are offered as loaded ammo.

Yes! No, I am not worried about short barrel life. I have other chamberings with excellent barrel life.
Yeah I knew they came in loaded ammo. 147 would be where I stop in a creedmoor case. But I also don't own a creedmoor so I'll never need to make that decision.

I just saw that your 257wby is 22". How much velocity do you think you are losing per inch vs a 26" barrel? I would think it's close to 50fps per inch especially with the heavies. A 257wby with a case full of N570 or even RL33 pushing a 140gr down a 26" barrel would be at 3200fps on cruise control.......I would think.

It cost me $20 for my 6.5 CM, https://www.longrangehunting.com/threads/i-got-my-first-6-5-cm-for-20.201958/

My best WAG is ~25 FPS per inch, so ~100 FPS compared to a 26" barrel. It was built to hunt suppressed.

Good looking gun! Maybe someone will chime in with a full size one with a fast twist and give some velocity numbers. I'd guess that a 26" 25-06AI or 25sherman with some retumbo would push a 140gr 3100fps.

Not knocking what you got btw

I can push the 145 BH to 3100 FPS with MagPro as a test powder (67.5 MagPro .015" off the lands, 3090 FPS 5 shot average) out of a 22 " barrel. See #122 of https://www.longrangehunting.com/threads/new-old-25-cal-wildcat.324314/page-9#post-2908094. His .257 WBY has a 26" barrel and is pushing it at 3200 FPS. So, the 100 FPS difference in velocity I provided in #270 is spot on.

I'm getting 3280fps with my 257-7 blaser (Blackbird) with a 26" barrel and 145gr blackhole.

MPBR of 250 yards and I'm sure it's good enough for deer out to 800 yards. I've taken a badger with a coldbore shot at 659 yards and it hit hard. Cheap Barnes 145gr Match Burners.
