I'm searching for a barreled action to drop into a McRees chassis. Must be a Rem700 footprint (but not a Rem) short action. I'm flexible on the caliber...literally anything from a man bun special to a .300 short mag.
Would really prefer a carbon barrel and shorter than 26". I would appreciate any honest input on what calibers perform best/worst with a 20-22" tube.
I can offer cash, but I also have a couple of nicer scopes that I would allow a favorable trade value towards a BA. Specifically a Leica ERi (2.5-19x42, illum ret) and a Meopta Meostar R2 (2-12x50, illum BDC ret).
If push comes to shove, I also have a couple of guns.
—1969 Browning Superposed Lightening 12ga, skeet/skeet, 26.5" barrels, non salt wood, and about as mint as you'll ever see.
— As new, Kimber Evo 9mm, bought new this winter, put 20 rounds through it and haven't shot since. Bought it for my wife, but she is staying with the Revolver.
