Best War and Action movies.

Foyle's War, ran about 20 years ago. Was 12 seasons long starting in (2002), had Michael Kitchen and his driver Honeysuckle Weeks, the rigs, uniforms, settings are all perfect for the day. Set in around UK in WWII timeframe. Good Winter blizzard, ya can watch a whole season in a couple nights. Library or Amazon has em nowadays, they're like better than any documentary.

I love all the classics being thrown around here but want to bring to light a couple others.

Generation Kill is excellent if we are including tv shows, a much more modern look at warfare than a lot of the classic/traditional war movies.

The Outpost was sort of in the same vein and I thought super under rated.

The Hurt Locker I enjoyed as well.

If you guys like reading or audio books, the actual books for Lone Survivor, American Sniper, and 13 Hours are all great and much better than the accompanying movies.

Surprised it took so long for someone to mention Platoon.

Generation Kill is fantastic. I fought in Afghanistan, and especially as a Marine, I find this series the most accurate portrayal of modern warfare and military life.

The Pacific
All Quiet on the Western Front (older and newest versions are well done)
Last of the Mohicans
Kingdom of Heaven
Zulu
The Longest Day
