The trespass fee is $2500. There is no lodging. We are half way between Clayton and Raton. Since you're coming from the east, Clayton would probably make the most sense. You can call or text me at 512-71-0600. Best, Ted

    Factory ammo

If you're happy using factory, then great. But reloading has some real advantages. I find I can reload straighter ammo than what is sold in the stores and I can control the COAL. Concentricity definitly helps accuracy and sometimes seating a bullet longer or shorter improves accuracy quite a...

    New Here Too

I shot these on our place about ten days ago. In the bottom picture, the fifth buck from the left (behind the doe) is an absolute toad. I think he'd get your name in the books.

    New Here Too

Thank you all! Folks asked: I live in Austin. My family's ranch is in NE New Mexico. It's almost 6000 acres and is privately deeded so there is no access for public hunting. Because of that, no draw is required. You just pay the trespass fee and buy your NM antelope and hunting permits, and...

Are you all seeing 20 gauge for sale?

I found a few boxes of 20 gauge (Federal blue box 7 1/2 shot 7/8ths oz) for sale in my area today but it was $12/box. That was the first I'd seen in a long time.

7mm-08 and 120 Barnes TTSX for elk

A friend of mine killed a nice bull with a 120 TSX, and I killed my first elk, a big cow, with a 120 Nosler Ballistic Tip from a 7-08. I wouldn't hesitate to hunt elk with a 120 TTSX from a 7-08 and might this fall.

    It's Not All About Pricing

I've had quite a few dealings with Camera Land and they've been great to deal with.

    New Here Too

Howdy, I'm from live in Central Texas and have been hunting for over 40 years. I enjoy all sorts of hunting, especially western big game and birds. My family ranches in NM too and we do sell antelope hunts occasionally and I have one of those left for this year (August 26-28). If you have...

    6.5 140 Partition on Griz.

That's an interesting article. There are only a handful of animals on the planet I wouldn't hunt with a 7-08 and a 140 grain partition, and the 6.5 CM isn't far from it. But it wouldn't be my first choice for a grizzly. That said, I had a salesman in a gun store recently tell me the 6.5 CM...

    Kaboom 💥 Today 😟

Yikes. I can't say for sure but it looks like bad brass to me. I'd probably ditch the rest of that brass as others have suggested. At least inspect it very carefully. I had a 7-08 case rupture once. It was factory Wichester with the nickel plated cases. I caught a face full of hot gas...

    Only 1 Rifle selection?

I have a friend who's done well with the 300 PRC but the 280 AI would certainly work too. Have you considered the 7 PRC?
