I enjoy it more than anything…I hook up with a buddy and have access to a large area of private/ranch. I’m sure it’s a $ maker for game and fish…I could’ve done the reduced cow calf at like $300ish. Guess I’m paying for better odds.
Yeah I just paid for a full price cow/calf tag was $724 I think….same price it’s been the last 2 years…but the price of the non resident bull tag went from about $1500 to a lil over $1900. Thank goodness I’m just trying to fill the freezer and not chasing horns!
In my search for boots I ordered and sent back many (very narrow feet) and I found a lil hack…put them on and on the treadmill at home or at your gym…you need the exercise anyway and it doesn’t mess the boots up where companies won’t take them back…I put minimum 10mi on a pair before I decided...
I got the barrel and action put together about 2-3 weeks before heading out west. Got it about halfway sighted in at 100 was hitting 8” plate at 200 once I got out there and called it good. I think the gun shot good… the guy behind it was the problem. I’m a bow guy not a gun guy but I’m getting...
I have a OMR (Oregon mountain rifle) prefit carbon fiber barrel 22” that I took off my Bergara b14 wilderness ridge. 1:9 twist and roughly 80 rounds thru it. Nothing wrong with it, I just changed the rifle to a 7 prc this year. Not sure what it’s worth…looking for $400. If I’m way off please let...
Maybe I’m reading into it too much or I’m just an idiot. But not sure what the new 2024 rules are other than 3 distinct areas for non-resident elk hunts/tag. My plan is/ was to hunt the eastern non-resident area Unit 16 “Gun“ Cow tag…I’m a meat hunter only…just looking to fill my freezer And...
My Bergara action and 22” carbon 6 liked it “ok” but far better than it like the “outfitter” and the choice ammo tipped with barns.
My gun drove tacks with the eldx.
I was really wanting that 195 to be my go to…hopefully yours works out.
Can’t speak for/about NF but I put a Zeiss v6 conquest (25-26oz) on the 7prc I built this year and just put down 2 cows (325 and 250 yds) in Wyoming last week. Being an east coaster that’s never shot over 100yds til this year. Had a sig and went to the Zeiss…absolutely no comparison!
Built mine for backcountry backpack hunting with 22” barrel to use a suppressor and still be so what compact. If I did it over again I’d probably go 20”. My plan now is to get a XLR folding chassis next year. It’ll be perfect for my intended use.
Probably not relevant to y’all but got chrono numbers the other day on my 7prc. With 22” carbonsixx barrel and 4” Wyoming arms suppressor at sea level using factory hornady 175 eldx at 2847 FPS.
