Hey guys, check out the front page of the Flathead Beacon, Dec.21,2011. (www.FLATHEADBEACON.com). I thought this one was an "interesting read", the article brings up an aspect of the infestation I hadn't given much thought to. Just one more thing that doesn't add up (including FWPs estimates of population... but that's another story) We, as hunters, are having a hard time, but at least most of us are not losing our pets, and our livelyhoods over the dang things.

Then go down and read the comment section. I can't believe the blind mindset of these tree hunging SOB's
It's even better that NONE of em ever actually get out into the woods, other than the ski hill for an hour or two. If you want to avoid tree huggers, all you have to do is actually go out into the woods. You don't see many Seirra Club, green peace, etc bumper stickers out there, but you do see quite a few "Smoke a Pack a Day". The fact that some one who doesn't even regularly enjoy the backcountry thinks that they have some sort of God given right to impose their misguided beliefs on those of us that do just ****es me off. (Sorry about the rant, I hadn't read the comments till you mentioned it)

Face it. Most people on this board would be pro wolf if not for the fact that we hunt and many of us live in the country.
There is a reason most city folks and college kids are sold on the "benefits" of predator introduction and protection. There has been a massive propaganda campaign in mass media, Hollywood and universities and unless people got some input that contradicts the brainwashing they will likely be pro-wolf.

Let's review for a second... The country has 2 National Parks that start with Y, neither is in the historical range of this wolf, The residents near one state they love wolves how do we get some. The residents near the other indicate they would rather not have them. Where do we put this experimental population? Why Yellowstone instead of Yosemite? What would the politics look like now if this experiment had begun in a state with that many electoral votes? Time to renew the sagebrush rebellion, western states need to stick together on this issue. Western used in the sense of ideology not geography.

I'm glad you put it here Gary-If it's going to be the wolf scoreboard it's good to be reminded the other side continues to put points up as well.

Good to have posted it here!

Typical for bureaucrats to not be able or willing to make a decision, especially on the spot!

Plus they are protecting their J.O.B.s and can do nothing with out signatures from above.

Years of subsidized "education" keeps turnin' 'em out.

Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their . . .

The temperature appears to be approaching boilin'.

I got to thinking. I probably should have posted this under another thread.
I'm with Harper and Roy, it's in the right spot. The more awareness we can raise on ALL fronts the better off we are. I'm sure we could all stand to do a bit more than discuss it online. But anything is better than nothing. If it's coming to a boil... we all oughta toss another log on the cookin fire!

A great post, in a great thread, in the perfect spot.

Thanx Gary,
Cody

Anybody have a link to statistics from the game check stations or fish and game regarding weight, length, age, sex, etc. for the wolves being taken this season? Be nice to see a geographic distribution, too.

Thanks and good hunting.
