30 sherman magnum

Yes, its been used successfully by a couple people. I think Carl Scott in Wy. was up near 3000' with 245's and shot some impressive groups.
A little slower than N570, but still very good.
Yep elevation can turn a non-magnum into a magnum at 8000' no doubt. Turns the Magnums into Ultra mags.

Sorry if this has been covered but should I focus on Retumbo or RL26 for 225's and 230's.
I have an 8lb of each but if there is a clear answer between one or the other I'd like to leave the lesser option sealed for trade.

Anyone run a 205 EH with H1000, Retumbo, RL23 or RL25? Would like to see some starting data and groups with 26"....

I have ran N560, H1000 and N570 with the 205's. My last load with H1000 was hot @ 86g so I would not go that far. Start at 78g and workup. Call Berger and see what the 300 PRC loads are for the powders you want and start in the middle. I used the hornady load data to fireform some breakin loads on a new build. I used 1g up off their starting loads for the 200g eld-x and 7828ssc. Got real nice shoulders on the brass. It was a good load. Not sure if Rich has any data on the 205's. You will get them running north of 3150 I would think.

Ive run 215's up to 3300 with RL33 and a 28" barrel, but its too slow a powder for a 205. All the powders you listed would work though.
Retumbo and RL25 would likely give the best velocity. Probably reach 3250 or so with a 26" barrel.

I hit 3240 with retumbo and 208 ELD-Ms in a 26' barrel. And about the same with a 195 bdII

Thanks for the info. I'm lined up with you as I have a ladder jotted down from 79-85.2 in .3 increments.

I'm going to do this cartridge for my next chambering, does anyone know if he has reamers and dies in stock or is there a wait if you want to purchase the reamer? How about brass?
I can't seem to get ahold of him right now.
Does anyone know the case taper off hand? just curious.
what bullet is the reamer set up for? I am planning to run 245 bergers/ 250 a-tips.

Um correct me if I'm wrong but in the original pic. You are hitting light pressure in a few of the cases. You have multiple ejector marks a few light swipes
