Looking for Respectable Mule Deer Hunt

Hunted mule deer back in the 1990's in NW Colorado. Saw many smaller ones but never did tag one as I wasn't interested in a 20 incher. Got up to 4 or 5 preference points but the required number kept increasing. Not sure if they are still good, anyway.

As I passed 70yo, I realized that this is something I would like to do - tops on my bucket list. Does anyone know of an outfitter that can reasonably arrange a hunt for a respectable muley? I appreciate that this may be a tough order and I'm certainly not expecting trophy quality animals. Unfortunately, my previous contacts have passed on and I've been out of contact for a couple decades.

Many thanks!
We offer hunts in Sonora,Mexico for mule deer and coues deer. No drawing or point preference needed. All hunts are on private ranches we lease, and 90% of the hunting is done out of high racks. So it is not a very physical hunt. Just covering a lot of country looking for the big boys.

You're website?

Those are whitetail deer...you should probably not go deer hunting in Texas and stay in California.
I could be snarky and say I'll hunt wherever I **** well please but I hunt Utah, Arizona, Colorado and yes, California. We have like 5 species of deer and they are all pretty small. I'm the type of Californian you may like. I'm about as redneck as redneck gets.

I would highly recommend "Montana Big Game Outfitters", Anthony VonRuden is owner and runs a very good outfit. He has over a 100k leased acres in eastern Montana with a lot of quality white tail and muley bucks. He can certainly provide you with a hunt that fits your physical needs and has a great camp and staff. You're not going to find monster muley bucks there, but you will come home with a very nice 165-175 buck if you have patience to pass on many 150 class bucks. His hunts are in the 6k range and most of his clients are return customers, which tells you everything about his outfit!!!!

It appears I stirred it up a little promoting Texas hunting. Texas is unique among states, as it was a sovereign country, before it became a state. Therefore, there is no Federal land in Texas, unless it was donated by a private rancher. Think Bigbend National Park. Consequently about 99 percent of the hunting land is privately owned.
For out of state hunters mule deer hunters you have to buy a non-resident hunting license (less than $400). And contract with a Texas outfitter for your hunt. There is a trophy fee, but you only pay it if you harvest an animal.

This is a short explanation, but I hope it helps you to understand Texas' multi billion a year hunting industry.
