Zeroed at 100 but shouts 4” high at 200

Some rings and rails have a MOA rating usually 10, or 20. The rings I have on one rifle are 10 and the raiil is 20 for a total of 30 MOA. If I move/swap bases as they actually are now it is a gain of only 10 MOA.

I agree from everything I know about these loads I should be anywhere from 2.5" to 3.5 " low. This is why I'm confused and believe the scope is not working correctly

Something's up. If you're on at 100, it shouldn't be rising at 200. Hmmm ...

It's a bushnell 5x18 tactical. About ten years old. I did not let someone else shot the gun normally I'm the one that has to shot everyone else rifles because of problem. I did let it cool down as well. I do find I get tighter groups when it's warmed up. And yes I made sure I was on the stock. I normally can shot beer cans with my m14 out to 360 yards. So I don't think it's me but never know. I did mention the issue to bushnell and they said they will just replace it with the new Elite Tactical 6-36x56 XRS3. Trying to see if it is the scope or something else

I'd dump the scope. I imagine the Lapua punishes it. Borrow a higher quality scope from someone and try it.

After reading all the suggestions the one thing that stands out is the OP changed the Parallax setting on the front of the scope from 100 to 200. I have never found those numbers to be accurate. This lead me to believe that the OP dialed in a parallax error. Is this enough to cause the issue? I would either set the parallax properly or try shooting at both distances without making any change to the scope.

Should be about 3-3.5 inches low as every body says.

Since it is obviously about 6- 7 inches higher than the predicted POI. Which is double the expected POI, I think maybe your rings or rail are installed on the rifle backwards.

lol with the red bull. But I will check the sling screw it did line up with the rest. And some one else told me if the parallax has moved in the scope it will be off. Bushnell also told me the same but need to new scope and go through it all again to really see
