Your 'yote rifle and...

If I'm out calling, I never go solo. I have a buddy that typically will bring a 45-70 along and we take turns. Thankfully, we've never had anything transpire that required his "backup" cannon.
 
I've been in quite similar to the situation you describe. However I don't like to carry more weight than I have to, so I have hand loads with 210 grain Accubond LR in a Winchester 70 30-06. It's a little (probably a lot) overkill for the yotes but it shoots very well and will take down a bear if necessary. Luckily I haven't had to use them on bear before but I'm confident in the trusty 30-06 to get the job done if ever necessary.
If there's no dangerous game in the territory then I'd just bring a 223 and a 12 gauge with bird shot. Carry the 12 gauge walking to where I'm going to set up for coyotes for the odd pheasant, and for the way out, and the 223 for the coyotes once I start calling.
