Wyoming elk hunt.

Hello. I have been hunting for many years, but only whitetail. Got inlaws in Wyoming that will help with a elk hunt.



He gave me several areas to put in for drawings. pkanlan on taking 2 or 3 rfles my 375 taylor primary and couple of backups. I got a cva hunter in 4570 single shot, and a 3006AI . .All with take a elk under right conditions. . Open to other ideas. The 375 withbe the hornady gmxaall copper bullet the 4570 will use a 350 gr and the 06ai will have eather a 165 or a 180 . . A taruas 44 tracker will be my buddy in case mr griz stops by. Thanks

I would use the 3006ai if your comfortable shooting it. Load some bullets and practice. Use your range finder and field positions of shooting and you'll be good to go. Good luck on your hunt!

+1 for the '06 AI
Practice practice practice with it. Find your yardage limits with it.
If the is a backcountry hunt get in shape. Wear a pack and pack your rifle if you can. Get a good set of mountain boots and start wearing them to break them and your feet in.

I'm with the others, take the 06, and I'd forget carrying the hogleg...........

Agree with what others have said. I also wouldn't carry the heavy revolver. Just have bear spray.
