Wire versus etched reticle?

I know that in the scheme of all things riflescopes, etched reticle is in it's infancy, but is there a reason to shy away from a wire reticle these days?

Technically, a wire can break, dislodge, come loose --- etched is permanent and can be made much more complex....I'd trust either from a reputable maker though

Maven has several

RS.2, CRS series are both wire and start at $450

Got to admit Darryle I miss read this as wife vrs new scope and was really wondering where it was going sorry didn't mean to derail thread

I have both and trust both. I do think that the etched is better. I had a cheap Bushnell that was purchased at a gun show for $20.00 that broke a wire on the third shot.
