Staball-HD is close to Retumbo. Staball-Match is close to Varget. The two are a world apart.
Burn rate might be close, but case fill can decide.VarmitBob I just looked at the burn rate chart and your correct.
While at the range a fellow shooter said he got great results with it.
I have a pound on the way and will see what it is good for.It is between Varget and CFE 223.
Close to V V N540.
Newest Powder Burn Rate Chart:
It is. Very useful. Running 133 Bergers, 134 Hornadys, and 145gr Black Holes with it in modified .264/.257 Win Mag (called .250 MDC)Nice! Right between 8133 and retumbo on the chart! And it's a high density ball powder!!!!! This could be a very good thing. I can see it being very very useful in the 257 wby shooting 115 grains and up, especially with a fast twist to take the 134 eld m 135 Berger 140 chinchaga and black hole bullets.
Howdy, are the speeds close to the other powders you've tried and what powders have you tried. ThanksDid a little testing with Staball hd in the 300 Norma yesterday. Loaded up 1 round of each charge just to try and get a feel for what velocity/pressure signs will be.
Rifle: 300 Norma Magnum, Bat vesper action, 26" Benchmark cf sendero barrel 70 rounds fired
Components: Staball hd, Peterson brass, 245gr berger eol, fed 215m
83 gr- 2750
84 gr- 2788
85 gr- 2830
86 gr- 2851
87 gr- 2890
88 gr- 2934
89 gr- 2960
90 gr- 2987(very faint ejector mark)
No heavy bolt lift, no clickers
The 6 shots from 85-90gr landed in a 1.1 moa group.
The only other powder ive tried in it is h1000. 84 gr of H1000 was getting me 2970 with the 230 hybrid and good accuracy. Any higher than 84 gr was giving me pressure signs and clickers. I definitely do not think h1000 would give me the same performance as staball hd with the 245. Have not tried N570 and probably won't.Howdy, are the speeds close to the other powders you've tried and what powders have you tried. Thanks
Awesome thank you
