I saw some outfit was making Torx head screws for the Model 70 and can't recall their name or location. I can get hex from NECG but thought the Torx a good idea. I think part of the name may have been diamond or maybe not. Any help would be good if possible. Thanks

I have not seen torx head screws for a model 70. I did use the NECG Allen head screws on mine and they are pretty easy to torque down. Good luck in your search.

The screws are typically 1/4"-28 tpi. I usually go to a harware store (like Ace Hardware) that carries a number of head types to get mine whenever I need a new one.
Thanks, but all the info I find says they are 1/4-32 for both Pre-64 and post 64 I'll keep on the hunt.

Do you have the original screw? Just take it in with you and check the threads. I do the same thing. I've never not found a screw that I need at an Ace or something similar. Torx are nice but a hex head is plenty for a firearm.

Maybe I'm just thinking Remington style screws.
