I have the Marlin 1894M which is a .450Marlin. More power and more bullet selection Better for mounting a scope.

i looked a long time for this winchester timber carbine in 444 marlin and it was well woth the wait. 265gr bullets at 2000 fps is a real large game killer.

Yea I shot a 408 lbs dressed black bear at 20 yards last year 300 rum 200 gr partition. Bullet went down 7 ft of bear and I said broadside it will pencil hole it. Why I want this or a 12 ga slug

I don't recall ever seeing a Win 444 with a pistol grip before, nice looking rifle!

To the OP, I've got one of the older Marlin Guide Guns in 45/70, SS and ported. I don't bear hunt, but have always thought it'd be just the ticket for such.
