Any one have one of these? Just bought a 6.8 Western. Always wanted a mod 70 pre 64 but just never pulled the trigger until now.

How's these guns doing for accuracy? Can't find much on this version of mod 70. Trigger info? If anyone has one. I reload so Whether the 6.8 makes it or not doesn't matter to me. The ballistics are good and just what I hoped would come out for a new 270. I loved the 270 wsm, but hated the twist and bullet limitations. I personally like that they kept it in the short action, instead of going like the 7PRC did.

Bet you will love it. I rebarreled a 7wsm m70 classic stainless I had in mcmillan 6.8W and very happy. Plenty of factory ammo out there right now but Win just did a run of brass and it was immediately gone. ADG is doing an initial run of 6.8W this month so you may try and get on a dealer list as not sure how much they will make or how long it will last. Welcome to 6.8W. Couple of active FB groups with good info/news if not already joined. Super cartridge!

I have shot many thousands of rounds through pre64 m70's, my hunting rifle is a pre64 in 30-06 and I shot highpower for 20 years with a pre and post m70 and saw many others on the line and they all shot very well, m70's were the rifle to use in Highpower. I have one guess that may not be true but might be correct which is I neck size the brass and perhaps with a mauser extractor this might be a good practice because with almost all other actions the plunger ejector will push the cartridge actually off center but into the same place in the chamber but with a mauser extractor there is nothing to push the cartridge into one side of the chamber so maybe neck sizing might be better so the cartridge is centered in the chamber

I'll be shooting it this weekend. waiting on MCARBO spring to reduce trigger. Factory trigger horrible 5.5lbs and it says it adjusts. I took screw all the way out and still 5.5lb, its NOT adjustable.
