First off, i know its kind of silly but im wanting to build another wildcat. Does it make much sense? No. But do i want it? Yes.

The Wildcat i want to build is a 7 or 300 RUM AI +P. Since i would have to have a custom set of dies i am wondering if anyone has rechambered(?) or rebored a regular RUM die to the AI'd version? Is it even possible? Or do i just have to go with a custom die? Thanks for the input.

Most sizing dies are hardened, so no. Seating die is OK. However, IIWY, order a corresponding sizing reamer for your chamber reamer, and have your GS build you a custom die using blank dies.

Where would you find a sizing reamer for my chamber reamer? What die blanks do people recommend? Im a big fan of hornady dies

Whoever is making your chamber reamer, i.e., Manson, JGS, PT&G, etc. Some die makers make blank dies. On my .338 Thor, a Newlon blank die was used for the hydraulic forming die, and the sizing and seating dies were Forster's. Make sure your sizing die is hardened afterwards.

Just went through this conundrum myself. Originally, I ordered a sizing reamer along with the chamber reamer. However, Cortina Precision will do the sizing die from the chamber print. The cost was less or the same than having a sizing reamer made, the die chambered, and then hardened. I was told the lead time is about 8 weeks. I'm expecting a bit more and to get the die around the end of February. However, I'm waiting for the chamber reamer itself and also the custom spec Bartlien barrel. I'm going to be using a Wilson die for seating, so I will have that done long with chambering. I've used Whidden before for custom dies, but when I contacted them, they said they have no plans to resume that service.

I worked with Ray at Manson for the design and spec of both a chamber and sizing reamer. He was extremely patient and helpful with all my questions and changes. This includes quickly modifying the order and issuing a refund for the sizing reamer when I decided to go with the Cortina custom die because I got the change in before production started.

Newlon, Wilson, and Cortina all have sizing die blanks.
