I've got a T3 in .243 that needs a new barrel. Will most likely go to a 6.5 Creed. I know their threads are metric and my gunsmith won't rebarrel any metric rifle because it's about a 2 hours job to switch the lathe over to metric (and he's too busy to be doing that). Looking for a prefit or to send the barreled action to someone who does a good job putting a new one on.
Thanks for the help

PVA, PROOF, BUGHOLES, there are several more but these come to mind. I have a PVA 260rem refit and it shoots very nicely. easy to install with just a go gauge and barrel vise.

Carbon Six makes them as well. You shouldn't need a barrel but due to the machining being far superior to most factory actions. I had a PRC done by them and it's definitely a sub .5" gun. No blueprinting, no hideous barrel nut.

I'm very familiar with CarbonSix. They did a 7 STW barrel for me almost 2 years ago. It's a tack driver. I didn't know they were doing prefits for the Tikka until today. I ended up ordering a Proof prefit barrel today.
Thanks for the help guys. A lot more options than I originally thought.

Straight Jacket Armory makes prefits with Proof barrels. https://straightjacketarmory.com/

Dave Young of Young's Gunsmithing, Tracy, Montana. He's a metal work perfectionist. Turned a Lilja blank and blueprinted the LH Tikka action to 6.5x55 Swede for my dad 10 years ago or so; back before lefties had options in 6.5's. Dave has also done a full custom job for me, the metal work on a custom CZ 452 LH, and a fair bit of other work for us. Here's the thing, though, Dave is SLOW. Don't hire him for something you need tomorrow, this week, or this month. You Might get it back within a year. BUT! when you do get your precious back, it WILL BE PERFECT! Metal work only, Dura & Cera kotes only, his bluing ain't great; I recommend a shop in Missoula for bluing, and No Stock Work at all unless it's a metal one like an AICS aluminum chassis stock.

If you're wanting a pre-fit barrel without the barrel nut (i.e., shouldered), I believe both PVA and Proof (in both steel & carbon fiber) are making these.

X caliber does Tikka prefits. I just hopped on there to check. I knew one of the places I frequent did them. And they've got 25% off right now...
