I try to be specific as possible with all my log books.
When I go shooting I log the:
Location
Specifics about the rifle and scope I'm using
Specifics about the load
Wind speed and direction
RH
Baro
Altitude even though I just use the Baro in my software
Temp
Cloudy or sunny
Time
Yardage
Coriolus inputs if I'm shooting far enough
Date
Then I list what target I'm shooting at and size of target. Once I get my
dope I will put down my CFE and CFW. I then ussaly shoot
my first shot and on the other side I have my AE and AW.
If I'm off target I write down the adjustments that are needed
to get me in the center of my target. Hence Actual Elevation
and windage adjusted from Called for elevation and windage.
This type of logging for me is only nessacary at long range. It's
Not the format I would use for say 100 yards. For each rifle
I have 3 logbooks one for load dev, field shooting, and total
Rd count. Oh and the actual pads I'm writing in are the 6"x2.5"
For 33 cents a peice.
One of these days I will get on excel make a template
then I will just have to fill in the blanks without
doing so much writing.
