Chassis:
Big Horn TL3 Proof Sendero 20moa rail
Optic NightForce NX8 2.5-20x50

Looking at an option with a bubble on the rings. Narrowed it down to two different rings.

Pick 1: Hawkins Ultralite 30mm short
Pick 2: NightForce Ultralite 30mm short

Which one would be the better ring? I know with the NightForce I would have to add add the bubble or bubble/degree indicator to the setup.

I was leaning toward the Hawkins for simplicity and supposed lighter weight. Anyone have some
Opinions or information I don't have on these. Thanks.

Hawkins ultralite.

I uses these with my 300wm, they are perfect. I shoot out to 1000 yards pretty regularly with them. As you point out, they have the bubble and are liter anyway. The bubble can be a pain get level and in-line with the reticle, but its well worth your effort.

I think overall I'd save money too. Think it's like $245 for the ring and the bubble. The Hawkins are $160 with the bubble. Quite a difference when adding ounces/ saying but put dollars in there. It definitely adds up. If there is not a huge difference here then I am leaning towards the Hawkins. It's a hunting rifle.

I'd take the NF. I've had 2x different sets of Hawkins ultralight and one set of Hawkins hybrids come loose even after torquing to recommend AND using blue loctite.

Went ahead and ordered the Hawkins. Since I already had an order in I tacked these on the order to save shipping and with my .mil for both NF and Hawkins. Costs wise it was still a win for the Hawkins. I'll see if they loosen up??? Hopefully with the right torque they won't as I have never had any rings toques properly loosen up on me before.

These were on pretty light weight magnums with muzzle brakes. That makes a difference. There is a lot of shock in the recoil and the brakes energy going the other directions. No muzzle brake and I bet I wouldn't have had the issue. I do have Hawkins on a few other rifles with lower recoil and no problems. So it's somewhat isolated experience. You very well may have no issues.

We will see recoil ain't so bad on 6.5prc. Will be using suppressor or muzzle break as well. Something liking 23lbs of recoil if o recall correctly.

Depending on the rifle weight (IE 8lbs) the 300 WSM is pretty close to the 6.5 prc as far as recoil. A little more but not much.. Hopefully I do not have any issues here.
I have a 6.5# prc, and the same weight wsm pushing 215s @ 2870fps has WAY more recoil than my prc with 156s @ 3080fps.
