I didn't have the best of luck with the 124gr HH. What is your COL and jump?I developed this load with help from the Hammer boys. I asked for a bullet recommendation to try in my .308 based on killing deer and large pigs inside 400 yards. The recommendation was to try and get a 124g HH flying at 3,200 fps. Out of the recommended powders RamShot TAC was the only one to get me there. Not shooting bug-holes but I'm done at 1 moa for inside 400 yards. The Kimber is super light and a little tricky to shoot but I love it for packing in. This load has drop a few deer and pigs so far, DRT, furthest shot at 180 yards. I could've tested at 380 yards but why when I knew I could get closer. I've also had great luck with a 130g Barnes TTSX.
- Kimber .308 w/22" barrel
- 124g Hammer Hunter over 46.6g TAC
- Starline brass w/ CCI #400 primers
- 3,115fps
- 1 moa, ES ~15fps.
I'll have to dig out my load development book to find that number. This info came from my Pet Load notebook. My ogive is 2.125", COL 2.653"... I remember thinking I should keep going, further from the lands, to try and tighten up the group a bit. Also considered trying the Butter Bean crimp but decided this was great for my intended use and it was time to train.I didn't have the best of luck with the 124gr HH. What is your COL and jump?

My man!!! Should be around 3800-4000 fps depending on powder outta the big 30I used the 130 TTSX for years, tried HAMMERS 124 and I will keep on HAMMERING. In the 30cal. I use them in 308, 30-06, 300 Wm, and 300RUM. Haven't tried them in my 30-378 YET.
First 5 shots I was like, "F THIS" Only Hammer that didn't give me a warm & fuzzy.Nor did I. The fastest, but least accurate, by a lot. First time with Hammers. I35s are good so far with initial testing.
FWIW, they didn't do well in my 300 WM either.
Agree.I know it's not in your list but the 150 power hammer can be pushed pretty fast. The load I settled on runs 2880 fps out of my Bergara 18" 308 win using H4895. I went heavier so I would feel comfortable using it for both deer and elk.
If you haven't seen it already, check out the attachment on this post to see folks hammer hunter load data so you can get an idea of what to expect velocity wise.
Hammer Hunter Load Data, (See page 1, Post 8)
OK, folks. Steve at Hammer Bullets has been getting requests for load data on Hammer Hunter bullets. There is an extensive spreadsheet for Absolute Hammer Load Data developed and shared by members on this Forum. Data for Hammer Hunters is on the Hammertime Forum, but it has not been placed...www.longrangehunting.com
That is straight from my Labradar. Is that velocity verified? You are 150 FPS faster than me. What am I doing wrong...
20" barrel and CFE223
I wasn't even that fast with the 124

To be fair, this rifle has a cavernous amount of freebore. These bullets have to be +/- 3.00" COAL to touch the lands and I'm mag limited to
2.950".
