Which 300 Norma Mag Twist????

Animals both for that matter.
I know a 220 Berger did not make it to target last year in a 9tw in a 300NMI

Take into consideration also as the throat wears the more you spin them the harder it is on jackets

Ask the majority of guys who shoot the 300wsm in BR why they shoot 10tw with 210-215 and 230

Do you know how fast they were pushing them?

I am no where close to fast enough with my 8tw 300 RUM with 245s. But it shoots the 215 as well. I could see where less mass being affected? That said, they are right under 3000 FPS-super slow barrel.

If you run the numbers with the New 10 shot 1000 yard BR world record its got an SG of 1.5

Don't go faster than 1/9. Army has been having some issues with their 1/8's. Bullets spinning apart...

I fixing to put together a rifle in 300 Norma Mag shooting the 230 Berger Hybrid OTM's in it. I live at 500' elevation in Texas but it will only be used in 6000' of elevation or higher. My 300 Win mags all use the 215's with 1:10's. They do just fine. I want this one to shoot the 230's. Stay with 1:10 got with 1:9.4 or 1:9??? I leaning one way just wanted to here from some Norma shooters.
My Barrett MRAD MK22 300NM is 1:8; 338NM is 1:9.4. These twists will handle any heavy-for-caliber bullets available. A LOT of development went into these barrels. Military applications......300 is for personnel engagements; 338 for anti-material, slated to replace the .50BMG role. Haven't yet encountered over spinning the 300 with 1:8 as shared above.
