Where you seating 162gr A-Maxs

In my 7mm WSM 139gr SST shoots great with bullet just in the lands. Not so with 162gr A-Max or 168gr Berger VLD ? Where you seating them in relation to rifling ?

Every rifle can be different but I've found the Amax like .010 of the lands to just touch. The bergers for me normaly like anywhere from just touch to .015 into the lands. Some people are getting good results with bergers of the lands but so far i havn't found this in the rifles I shoot.

In all of my rifles the A-max likes 10-15 thou jump, while the bergers prefer to be touching lands slightly.

I am using 15 thou off with 63 grains of h4831sc

I was seating them right at the lands in my 7 RM, shot awesome out to 1K

I tried the 140 in a 264 and it wouldn't shoot them regaurdless of many different powder weight/OALs

Will work on the 162 again here very soon, this time from a 7 RUM sendero.
