The other night ironicly just after I read this thread, one of our local 4-H volunteers was taking some pretty hard jabs at the local shooting community in a very loud manner in a very public place stating that "his" 4-Her's weren't even going to be able to shoot this year because of all the TARGET SHOOTING people who bought up all the 22 bullets, that he couldn't find any for the kids to use! There were 3 other target shooting pals of mine sitting in the crowded restaraunt around me when I spoke up and asked him why he had to group all the shooters in with the money hungry people that didnt care about anything but making a buck that had actually been the ones who had purchased most of the 22 ammo, along with the panick stricken hords of people!?!
Well he along with several other people saw that he had struck a nerve. Even though he wanted to let it go, I said no. I got up and calmly went over and sat beside him and told him that I thought that I could "help" him find some ammo. I told him that it wasn't going to be Eley Tenex Lite, but I would assure him that it would all be of the same manufacture and lot number. I then asked him how many he needed. He said he thought he could get by with 1500 maybe 2000 rounds (very small community). I was awe struck... I asked him why in the HELL he had made such a mountain out of a molehill! I told him that I would be glad to donate that many my self. I told him that not to worry when he got around to coming to my house and picking them up he would have many more than 2000 rounds.
It just burns me up to know that some people do things and say things before they think. Its too bad that he wasn't as loud with the apology later. BTW, before I got up and left I had made 4 phone calls and I had over 10,000 rounds for him. (He ate a little crow while I was eating steak that night). ;-)
