Absolutely not, but I'd rather have a .30 Nosler than a .300WM. Simply because everyone has a .300WM.All about sales. Soon there will be no more niches to fill. Like the 30 Nosler; was it really necessary?

As is life, bud...As is life.Pointless circles that go on and on and on and on.

His name will be PR Creedmoor. And the guy with the the most rounds in the small circle at the end wins...
At the end of the day it's a 6.5-284 that fits in a short action, or a 6.5 rem mag/slightly faster 260 ackley you can buy loaded ammo for if you need/want to. If those things interest you it's a pretty sweet deal, especially if you just hold your horses a minute for good brass.
If those differences don't matter to you then you are likely either satisfied with a 260/CM/47 or you're building a 6.5SS and calling it a day since it's the baddest anyway.
The bc is fairly accurate. I've shot it at 1,000 and it seems spot on. I know the 140 eld is spot along as I've shot it a few times at 1350-1450 yards. I will be playing with then147 more this spring when the snow and cold weather go bye bye.It should be a pretty bad PRS round. I wonder if any guys have started using it? The only issue I can see that the other 6.5s have an advantage over it is in recoil.
With the 147 grain ELD, Hornady has a published G1 BC of .697! I don't know if that's quite accurate, but you know it has a pretty high BC regardless.
It's still going 2250 FPS at 500 yards! I can see the PRC giving an edge to PRS shooters.

I agree with bc of 140 ELDM being accurate......I've shot it to 1300.The bc is fairly accurate. I've shot it at 1,000 and it seems spot on. I'm in load development for that bullet as we speak. Very promising bullet and I hope my 8 twist stabilizes it well enough at distanceAnd the 150smk is .713 g1 I believe. Should be an enjoyable combo approaching 3100
What calculator are you running? I've been running the 4dof for all my bullets and they've been dead nuts on the money if I have all my variables correctI agree with bc of 140 ELDM being accurate......I've shot it to 1300.
JBM.....I've thought about giving the Hornady program a try, as well.....I've heard good things about it.What calculator are you running? I've been running the 4dof for all my bullets and they've been dead nuts on the money if I have all my variables correct
What's the point of a 300 PRC? Since a 6.5 PRC is a necked down 300 RCM, necking up a 6.5 PRC is just remaking the 300 RCM. Unless you just want a new name for a cartridge that's already in production, then the 300 PRC is just redundant, and a waste of time and money. Seems totally pointless to me, but hey, I'm just Joe schmoke factory worker, what do I know?
