What magnum caliber

I am admittedly a small bore guy. When I think I want a magnum I go to a 257 weatherby or 6.5-300.
I have a friend who's "small rifle" is a 300 weatherby for critters up to deer. I still don't think he's right in the head, but he's a happy camper with the rifle we call "black death".
Your Friend is right !!!

My first custom, a 28 nosler, should be finished by the end of the week. Now I'm already wanting to start another. If so I'll part ways with current gun to fund it. But, as the title states what calibers would yall recommend. I think I'd like a 30 cal. But open to all options. I tend to lean towards the hotter rounds.
I have to "2nd" or "3rd" what others have said. Top end 30 magnums are 300RUM, 300 NM, or 300NMI. I would make my decision based on brass availability. ADG makes 300RUM and 300NM.

I think the 30-378 would be a good choice. I was too busy being the class clown to be the cool kid. I like belts. And I have a set of 30-378 dies I could part with, if you need them.

I recently got a 338-378 weatherby Mark v Accumark elite. Love it so far. That's my top end cartridge. That will pretty much do anything I ever have a desire to do.

I am too cheap and impatient to have a rifle built, especially when Weatherby sells everything I like new and right out of the box. Because of this forum, I have become a 338 caliber fan. I got myself a Weatherby 338-378 and I love it so much that I put a suppressor on it. Weatherby makes different configurations of this caliber, so give 'em a look-see!
