It is topped with a VX-3 with Boone & Crockett reticle, which should be a ballistic match for this low BC bullet at this velocity.
Next step is to take it out to confirm.

Well... took it out in the 102* temps today to check ballistic alignment with the Boone & Crockett reticle on the VX-3.
I fired 3 rounds only using B&C reticle.
1 @ 200 Yds (which is zeroed on center cross)
1 @ 300 yds (first hash)
1 @ 400 yds (second hash)

Forgot to check the top of post subtension. I may be able to push it to 500.

I'll load a batch and shoot them all again once more to re-confirm.

From the looks of it... it's 1 1/2" low at 300 mark... may have been me?

Still a good match for a no dial hunting rig.

Just checked the reticle subtensions on the top of post for the B&C reticle. If my calculations are correct on the JBM table...the top point of post subtension shows to be close to 500 with this load. I will try it @ 500 in the next outing, which should be tomorrow.

Went out yesterday to shoot 300 again and 500.
300 was up within 1/2" of center line but 2" right.
Held the top of post with a bit of wind on 500 and put a center shot on the plate!

I'm tickled that the B&C reticle lined up so well with this load !!
Sometimes we get lucky!!

A while back I picked up some Speer Impact 172 grain bullets so I loaded some for the same rifle.

As I've said before, which lots of us do… I just can't leave good enough alone!

I'll shoot 'em soon and report.
