What is the the most flat shooting cartridge yall can think of?

Nice try…by the way, do you have a Vortex sticker in your back window? :)

You posted a link with data stating that SEVERAL of those cartridges on that list shoot flatter at 500 and 1000 yards, than a 300 RUM…do YOU believe that data is true?

What do you know about the .30 cal cartridges on that list, shown as being flatter shooting than a 300 RUM?

Come on now…what do YOU think?

What are my sources?…That's your problem…why do I/we/you, need a magazine, or a YouTube "Look at me, Wannabe", to tell us what is "reality"?

I'll give you a hint… if I'm shooting a 30" 300 RUM and close to crunchin' N570, with a mid weight ultra-high BC bullet?…

How flat am I shooting? Put the puzzle pieces together, man

Do you reload?
So, does your 300 rum shoot flatter at 500 yards than a 6.5-300 wby or 26 nosler?

I posted the sources from Backfire and Ron Spomer but I never said I agreed with their data or not. But, at least they posted their data.

Is Ron Spomer and Backfire "wannabe's" ? I never claimed they are legit or frauds, I just posted their data as a conversation starter. You were the one to claim their data is not accurate but you can't prove it.

Your quote above: "I'll give you a hint… if I'm shooting a 30" 300 RUM and close to crunchin' N570, with a mid weight ultra-high BC bullet?…"

Why does the barrel length have to be 30" inches? My 300 rum's rifle has a barrel length of 28" inches. What about a 6.5-300 wby or 26 nosler with a 30" inch barrel? Or, a 7mm RUM with a 30" inch barrel? Can your 300 rum shoot flatter than all those to 500 yards if all those were fired from a 30" inch barrel with handloads?

Arken7mm,

If you don't necessarily believe the two folks you posted, why did you post their info?
I'm not saying I agree or disagree with them, I posted their data on this thread since this thread is titled: "What is the most flat shooting cartridge yall can think of."

On the list, the 300 rum is not in the top 20 flattest shooting cartridges but, Earnhardt says his 300 rum is flatter shooting, I asked him simply where is his proof and he hasn't shown any or posted any data backing up his claims.

I don't own a 6.5-300 or 26 nosler so I can't compare it to my 300 rum in person but, I never claimed my 300 rum is flatter shooting than those two cartridges above, but earnhardt says his 300 rum is flatter shooting.

Is there any source, data or reference out there that proves the 300 rum is the flattest shooting cartridge or flatter shooting than the 6.5-300 wby or 26 nosler?

Are you sure about that?… :)

Arken7mm, by not answering some simple questions, I have a good idea of your background.
I'm sorry, I know that sounds rude…

I gave you some puzzle pieces for reloading…put them together…and determine how flat my gun shoots…

You haven't answered any of my simple questions.

Does your 300 rum shoot flatter at 500 yards than the 6.5-300 wby or 26 nosler?

Also, what makes you more credible than Ron Spomer?

Your quote: "I gave you some puzzle pieces for reloading…put them together…and determine how flat my gun shoots…"

It's not up to me to guess or determine how flat your own rifle shoots. I don't know if your posting lies about your rifle. It's your rifle and you claimed it shoots flatter than a 6.5-300 wby and 26 nosler. Prove it.

Do I trust Ron Spomer more than some random person under a screenname "Earnhardt" who hasn't posted any data/sources but tells us his 300 rum shoots flatter at 500 yards than a 6.5-300 and 26 nosler? YES!

I would think the 7PRC or the 30PRC and the 6.5 x300 Weatherby are among some of the flattest shooting commercially available cartridges! I also expect some one has probably made up a wildcat in a custom chamber that surpasses anything presently available!

The debate of "flattest" is 100% subjective unless someone puts a fixed variable in place such as "Range" to use as a common denominator.

This is one of the only posts where I've seen that actually be listed as 500 as well as 1000.
Not surprisingly, it's unlikely to have one cartridge be the flattest at both distances.

As for the flattest at 500 that I'm aware of.
A 6UM with a 115 Dtac at around 3600 fps is awfully saucy.

Roughly 24" of drop (1.3 mil) at 500 yds from a 100 yd zero

My 300 RUM load can NOT beat that at 500 yards

We have a thread and I have a project for that.
