Would that be between the 6.5-300 and 26 nosler?Flattest shooting in my mind means...
You are not using the elevation dial....
You are not using some Christmas tree reticle to do hold overs...
Flattest to let's say 500yds. Point, click, get the skinning knife type shooting.
If you've got an adjustable stock or a chassis with 0 drop you could mount the scope way above the bore (2.5" or so) like is done with an AR and the rifle will appear to shoot flatter due to the extra ~1" between the center of the bore and center of the scope.
Don't know what the point blank range was, but my 6.5-300 WWH only required 19 MOA to go from a 100 yard zero to dial on at 1,000.
Exactly! Are we talking about flattest shooting at a target or hunting an animal?
At what distance in yards does the flattest shooting bullets (6.5-300 and 26 nosler) become "unethical" on game? My 300 RUM is not as flat shooting as the two above but I probably won't get as much flack if I were to shoot a moose or elk at whatever distance is considered "ethical" with my 300 RUM compared to the 6.5 or 26 would I?
What bullet are you shooting out of your 300 RUM, that isn't as flat as a 6.5 -300? Out to 500 yards? Are we talking about flattest shooting at a target or hunting an animal?

I have never fired the 6.5-300 or 26 nosler. But, looking at the data...What bullet are you shooting out of your 300 RUM, that isn't as flat as a 6.5 -300? Out to 500 yards?
Looking at that linkI have never fired the 6.5-300 or 26 nosler. But, looking at the data...
The 6.5-300 has a average bullet drop in inches of -32.4 at 500 yards.
The 300rum has a average bullet drop in inches of -44.7 at 500 yards.
