I am having to put some weight in the rear of my rifle stock so it won't be front heavy and lead shot is not heavy enough. What else is there?

Gold comes to mind, or Uranium U. Fermium Fm and Lawrencium Lr are quite a bit heavier.

A solid slug of carbide would do.

Just melt it down and pour it in, hehehe!

As mentioned above, the toungsten powder for bullet cores is also denser. melt the lead and pour it in, that will not leave the dead space and deadblow hammer effect.

HeviShot is a tungsten waterfowling shot. I'm not sure exactly how much density you gain but it is denser. I have no idea what the melting point is either if you wanted a solid block (ie denser) than loose shot.
