What do you use to clean primer pockets?

Title says it all. Do it by hand? Use electrons?

I started reloading by cleaning primer pockets for Dad about 1965. He used a small Grace hollow ground screwdriver. The handle is placed in the palm of the hand. Index finger on the stem. A quick turn of the wrist and carbon comes right out. It may not look pretty but it does short work of the chore.

By hand with a primer pocket wire insert/brush then through the walnut media in the vibratory cleaner.

I have used them all, brush style, screw driver style and the one similar to the above made by Lee, works an absolute treat and is fast.

I don't clean pistol or 223 either.

My pistol brass is usually dirty enough to warrant a bath in the SS pin tumbler. This cleans up the pockets more than adequately. All of my rifle brass gets the same treatment. I put the uniforming tool in a cordless drill/driver and give it a quick buzz.

I knock out primers with FA hand deprimer before wet tumbling with dawn, Lemishine, and SS pins. Primer pockets come out clean with none of the time/effort described in most of the above posts.

As an added bonus, my press stays clean and dead primers properly wrangled.

I used to be incredibly anal about reloading for my varmint rifles. Eventually I simply got too busy or too many rifles to continue. Cleaning primer pockets is one step that I never saw any reason to continue. I do use a pocket uniform tool on new brass
