Cool - I was confused why he replied to my post...I think he means 7 3/4 lb or 9 1/4 lb rifles won't work as good

Do you have any info on the 7-300 prc? It seems like a real winner.Pretty much the same cost, PRC runs a heavier bullet slightly faster. PRC isn't going anywhere it's here to stay. 7 and 33 wildcats are already being made WM and PRC are both very good

We're shooting game, not numbers and the game won't know the difference in being shot with either.Wrong. 300 Norma is 400 FPS faster than the old 300 WM. Not even the same ball back in performance and that ins't even going into some of the more exotic Wild cats. VE is the number one wound kinematic and there is no replacement for it. 300 WM is kind of anemic when compared to modern 30 cal magnums
Just use a .338RCM neck die to get it to .338 and you're one step away from having a .300 Neck. As long as you keep the original shoulder angle and neck length, no problem.Do you have any info on the 7-300 prc? It seems like a real winner.
Awesome, keep us posted! Not yet. A buddy is just spinning it up
Exactly! If I were just shooting paper and steel I would agree with you 300WM does everything we need it to to 1200 and past actually depending on DA. Time of flight reduces fro wind drift, elevation errors depending on how good the laser is and how accurately the target was lased. Remaining VE are critical in killing animals. Energy is not the answer when it comes to killing stuff. The bullet needs enough remaining VE to perform as advertised especially when we drop below 1600 FPS and get into medium velocity wound channels. We're shooting game, not numbers and the game won't know the difference in being shot with either.
There's nothing in N. America you can't kill with confidence with a well placed shot from a .300wm at least as far as 1,200yds.
Yes, the norma will get there with more energy and velocity but if both shots are well placed the effect is the same from either, a clean, quick, humane, kill.
I am just back into this ... what does that mean? Which way i guess is what i am asking..give a part turn out ? (just in process of my first batch 300wm , primed about 90 cases)Why all the poo-poo of the belt, set your dies up to bump .002 off the shoulder and for a hunting gun your good to go.
