I've used several different commercial devices to catch patches and spray. The MTM is by far the best. I generally clean 3 rifles at a time so I have 3 Tipton gun vices and 3 MTM patch grabbers.

Blow up a baggy, 1qt or gal, then rubberband or tape it around the barrel. When you're finished zip it shut.
