What are these slots called?

Thank You all, YOUR rifles are stunning in the true classic sense. I bought a Synthetic stock for the 300 Weatherby Mag. I either Wrap the wood stock in Camo Wrap, or change into the Bell and Carlson Synthetic Stock, if it's going to get wet or rough. You can see the mag na port slots under the front sight on the .300 Weatherby . I had Iron sights and a barrel band added to this Rifle back in the 70's. Same rifle, Two stocks. What the hell. Perhaps one more elk hunt !!!

That 67 brings back to one of my fondest memories of my brother. He would come bring his 427 to a stop on a straight stretch of road, place $20 on the dash and tell me it was mine if I could reach it. Every time this then 10 year old got close, he would grab another gear and slam me back into the seat. Good times.
