Lyman cyclone usually can find on sale for about $150.00 and a Weston dehydrator has 6 trays I believe for around $50.00. Both work great for myself.

If you are going to wet tumble use Brass Juice. 3oz. to 1 gallon of distilled water and then you don't need the pins. If you think you must use SS chips instead of the pins. https://www.thereloadingstation.com/products/brass-juice-case-wash This stuff is stronger than the Hornady case wash.

Lyman Cyclone Rotary Tumbler.

I'll let you all in on a secret. I've spared no expense on my tumbling stuff. I have the dry and wet rotary tumblers. I've used walnut, corn cob, metal polish, mineral spirits...etc for the dry tumbler. I've used dawn and Lemi-shine in my wet tumbler with and without stainless steel pins... works okay.

There is literally not anything that is faster or works better than Brass Juice. By far the fastest and cleans the brass without use of any stainless steel media. I used the same gallon of mixture I originally mixed to clean over 5 loads of brass (about 600 223 cases) and they were literally spotless and shining more than new. Then I didn't have to separate media. Just put them on my Lyman brass dryer and I'm done.

I don't have any experience with it and nickel plated cases, but nickel plating typically wears a little better and tarnishes less than brass (of course it can still tarnish in the right conditions.) However, I have not used anything better so far.

I bought a cheap, unbranded one off eBay. Cost around $70 Aussie (probably around 50 US). Uses stainless steel balls, which are easy to recover post cleaning (I use an old aluminium colander for this). Works great with a little dish soap and citric acid. The small model I have is fine for running small batches (<50 cases) although a larger model is available. Had it about a year now and so far, so good.

I picked up a load of 9mm and 40 S&W brass at the indoor range the other day. 1/4 of the brass was mine and the rest were from 3 other shooters on the line who didn't want their brass. It was a mixture of brass and nickle plated cases. They were so dirty that just picking them up left your hands black.

I dumped the entire mess in my STM tumbler with some Dawn and Lem-Shine. Two and a half hours later I opened the tumbler to find the blackest water I've ever seen. Three hot water rinses revealed the cleanest, shiniest brass you could imagine. Nickle and brass cases both looked great.

I tried brass juice it makes the case shine like jewelry but doesn't clean the primer pocket so I put the pins back in and it cleans the primer pocket mostly where you can't tell it was shot

I also use a Frankfort wet tumbler. I haven't gotten around to getting the stainless chips yet but it's on the list to wants.

I changed to the stainless steel chips instead of pins it makes a difference
