Weatherby 307 Long Term Reviews? Who has one?

I am thinking about 1 of these for my son and eventually me. Does anyone have any real world range reports with thoughts on these? Specially the Meateater Edition or Range XP. Thanks

I've owned one for a few months but have been slammed with projects and trying to keep up with the grass this spring. Hope to shoot it this week. Will let you know. Mine is chambered in 257W.

I have read a couple reports of hard bolt closing, smooth cycling though as it felt to me. biggest complaint is the stock, touching the barrel and guys buying new stocks. also read about the coating flaking off. I have not bought one just think for the money there are nicer rifles out there. I was wanting one with the wood stock nice but not very high quality wood but for 600.00 more over the the factory stock it was not worth it to me, but have heard they shoot nice after you get them the way you want it

I have an one an xp in 240 the xp stock is not a good one I replaced it with a B&C other than that I love to rifle it shoots sub MOA with there cheapest factory ammo

I have always like the Mark V's but the price has gotten to high and I think I will get a Browning X Bolt next time

I actually handled an X bolt the other day, and it seemed pretty nice overall. A friend had an older model and I wasn't a fan of the trigger, but the one I handled at Sportsman's the other day was better.

I was curious about the 307 when I read the first article about it. My first thought was why? Weatherby has the Mark V and Vanguard. I think it was heavier than comparable rifles and that was enough for me.
