We Are Just Getting Started…

A buddy of mine is a great friend, mentor and shooter. He's been super helpful in my shooting journey that has started a few years ago. Unfortunately, he's a negative influence on my bank account!

I've got a few rifles, nothing to write home about. I'm wanting to go out west with the aforementioned buddy and will need a rifle. I thought I might buy a higher end factory rifle, in a mild cartridge. Then he shows me his latest beaut. Now I'm going down the rabbit hole! He turned me on to this forum, and lucky for him, I'll spread the blame to you guys as well. I'm here to soak up the knowledge and hopefully I'll be able to pass that on to my kids. Thanks for having me… FEG

I'm here to save you!

Contrary to the near unanimous consensus……you can survive nicely with two cartridges. A primary "do it all" cartridge of medium bore in an efficient and readily available cartridge in a rifle of light to moderate weight for all of your big game hunting……and a "hot rod" small bore (.17 to .25) for varmint use and plinking at long distance.

Finding the appropriate cartridges to fulfill that criteria should keep you busy for a while! Once done……life is "easy peasy"! 😜 memtb
