We have already 'failed' our kids for the most part. Look around you, take a good look. What do you see? You see kids with the noses in computer games, doing drugs, running wild with no parental supervision not that you can supervise because corporal punishment for being bad is viewed by the government as assualting your kid.
I see it everyday, young men and women coming in looking for a job, with no skills but a HS diploma and that means nothing because kids today graduate without the basic skills needed to survive, they come in, pants down around their *** cracks, ball cap on backwards, covered with tats, can't even fill out a rudimentary employment application and want top tier wage right off the bat.... If and I say if, they can pass a drug screen. Then, if they make it to employment, most work a couple days and then call in sick.
Great work ethic. You know why? Because the parental upbringing and instilled principles aren't there anymore. Kids today are about 'gimme' this and 'gimme' that. Not all but a large percentage.
Good luck with yours, mine are grown and I have grandkids. You know what. my grandkids ain't much.
Far as I'm concerned, out of HS, 2 years of mandatory selective service or college with a 3.5GPA or better or selective service. There needs to to regimented discipline in this country. Thats sadly lacking.
The worst thing that happened in this country in the las 20 years was abolishment of the draft.
I have a very close friend who is a German National. He lives in Mannheim. grew up thyere. Works for John Deere as a design engineer, he comes over here every year for work sessions so I see him regularly.
In Germany, when you graduate from High School, you can either join the Army, work in a hospital, perform public service and/or go on to school. Thats how it should be here.
He didn't grow up under the Constitution so firearms are foreign to him. Only the police and soliders have weapons and if you are a civillian, you can own ONE sporting rifle, thats it. No pistols, no AR's, no nothing and the paperwork and licensing cost is astronomical. He comes here and shoots my firearms as he knows I like them, however, he really has no interest. It's out of courtesy and friendship. What I'm saying here is.....
If you don't have them and never did, you don't miss them and thats the point of my previous posts.
The first generation that looses the right to bear arms is gonna be ****ed, plenty ****ed, but, succeeding generations without the right to own arms as private citizens, it will become less and less of an issue until it's not an issue at all. It will be considered abnormal to own a firearm, reserved for the rich and powerful only.. Common people won't have firearms and thats how it works in a complacient society of sheeple, which is, exactly what we are, like it or not.
Don't think we are (as a whole). Better look around, read the state run media (I used to laugh at that statement but it's true). Just look at the people on entitlement, collect ADC, Welfare, Food Stamps, have Bridge Cards, trying to defraud businesses or suing one another. It's all about 'me' and whats good for me which is why I say, it's about 'we', not 'me'.
Your kids won't know the freedoms we took for granted. Thats the way it is. Accept it or resist it, your choice, probably the only real choice you have anymore. Everything else is controlled or impacted by the government because the sheeple want it that way.
