vortex hst or leupold vxll

Just getting into long range shooting, I have a 300 wby mag. And I just can't decide on the scope I want. I'm looking at the vortex hst 6-24x50 I have also thought about a vxll with a custom dial.
I will be shooting out to 800 yards possibly 1000. Budget is around $600. Wondering what you guys preferred, I'm also open to new suggestions.

I would take the HST over a vxiii any day of the week. Better turrets, more internal scope adjustment, better reticle, tracks better, equal or better warranty, better or equal glass.

So, versus a vxii... absolutely no question
