Voere Shikar in 300 win, help me?!

From th 60's, predecessor to the Kliengunther K14 and K15. It was called the 'poor man's Weatherby. 'RemChesters were $170, Shikar $225 and Weatherby's $325. The only visual differences were the safety pushes up and down on the Shikar and has 6 locking lugs? or 3. Thus the nickname "Poor Mans Weatherby". It was thought the stocks and barrels may have been made the same place as Weatherby's. I have had a .243 and 7mmRM.

Thanks for all the classic information. Ich weiss nicht uber Voere - but it sure looks like Roy Weatherby might have borrowed/incorporated some of these fine looking concepts in his rifles. Going to look at my Mark V again - in a .300 Win Mag - stainless barrel - that was made in Japan? in the '94-96 period. Have to get off my old duff and finally go shoot it - but have been waiting for a Tikka T3X Lite in 6.5 Creed I just bought to clear Cal registration. Such BS bureaucracy.
That and it's hard to find outdoor ranges here in SD - have to drive an hour at least. Indoor ranges only permit up to 30.06 shooting.

Robert Klienguenther worked for Roy way back when. He had ideas on making 1/2" rifles. Roy told him 1 1/2" was good enough. Robert started his thing guaranteeing 1/2" three shot groups at 100 yards. 3/8" was not unusual for mine. I bought it in 1977. It's the only thing I still have from that far back.

Registration? That is disturbing... sorry to hear.

I have amended my previous post which was confused with some other of my notes about lugs. There are only three lugs on the Shikar. The photo shows two of the three with the extractor cut into one. The difficulty of bolt lift is often due to the 3-lugs and the cam angles used in this receiver/bolt combination.

I also added some other information from my notes regarding the bolt removal.

Thanks for all the great info. Guess there's a few more out there than I thought. Not to beat a dead horse, but to the guys that have them we're you able to find a rail that Is compatible? Mine has a redfield base (can remember number off the top of my head) and dovetail style rings. Would maybe like to find a rail if there's one that can fit without machining.
