I am in the process of building a 6.5-284 and was playing with the BC program on the Best of The west site to see how effecient the 6.5 Berger is. I don't know what velocitys I'll get but I started with 2950. When I also ran a drop chart for 3000 fps , I discovered the strangest results. At 1000 yards there was only 36 fps difference and at 1500 yards there was only 26.6 fps difference. I always thought that more velocity was a good thing and that an extra 50 fps at the muzzle would b 50 fps more at 1000 yards. Anyone else ever see this happening with the programs they use ?? At that rate of loss , the slower identical bullet would catch the faster one at 3000 yards!!
