Papa Black we always waited to butcher in the fall after we had freezing temps at night , mid October to early November and hung it in a shed out of direct light during the day .

So how fast is the downwash moving, and for what radius? That would be fun to plug into a ballistics calculator to see the affect. And I guess you'd need to know the range and angle of the shot. It might just be a bit trickier that one might assume.

lt seems the US govt declared war on NM. Last year the USFS did some controlled burns around Chacone, Mora area. New Mexico state foresters told govt, ''Don't burn''. Locals also said, ''Don't BURN''. But, what these locals know?? They just LIVE THERE!! USFS lit 'UP' New Mexico last year. To the tune of app 900,000 acres and 700 homes. My prairie dog shoot got BURNED UP TOO. Thanks alot

I ate it when I was a kid, But that was a long time ago. It was a neighbor who was from Texas and he buried it in the ground and cooked it, It was actually very tasty.

Simple if you get the cow for free your not paying the taxes on every steak and pound of hamberger meat and roast that cow has. They could have a cow tag hunt and charge 150 dollars a tag real easy but this would give the cattlemen assocation a greivence must less butcher shops not making money off the free meat from the cows unless your a hunter that owns a butcher shop. Dont even mention labor unions they have one for everything and think how well we got along before them.

I'm thinking they ought a just fuel up a couple of those vintage, National Guard C-130 Hercules troop transports . Then find a few pilots and crew members that needs a little air time to stay current. Get a pallet of parachutes on board and all the hunters that could use a side of beef, loaded up. Drop the tailgate, hook up to that static line, walk out the tailgate, spread em out over the 2,500 square miles. After a hunter gets his beef quartered up, in the meat bags, he'd send a text out with his GPS coordinates. Then some high school kid come by on a 250cc dirt bike, with panniers to pick it up. The hunters hike out and pickup the meat at local cooler in town, which is near a saloon.
