I had it pegged for a plumb bobCenter for a Lathe (pointed one)
Bolt is flat on end , thanks10/4 on dead center of a metal lathe! Is the screw/ slash bolt pointed on the end or flat? It appears that it holds round stock in place in the v shaped piece so it can be worked (drilled milled etc.)
Yep that's why bolt is flat on the endMorse taper center as the others have said, the other looks like a milling/drilling fixture maybe? Clamp your round bar/piece in the fixture using the screw on top, clamp the fixture in your vise and everything is held tightly to do whatever machining you need to do.
Me to. Maybe cause I was in building so long.I had it pegged for a plumb bob
Naw, with that oxidation patina, that would be a Plumb Sam.I had it pegged for a plumb bob
