I have shot two Kudu's with my .270Win with 150gr Hornady Interbonds this season. Both were instant drops. The one was a neck shot. This bullet was not recovered. The other one was a shot on the sholder blade. The bullet was recovered just under the skin on the other side. The retaining weight of this bullet was 84% of the original weight. What was even more impressive was that the diametre of the bullet's mushroom wat an incredible 16.86mm. Given that a .270Win bullet measures 6.8mm, this is nearly 3X the original diametre.
