I am real olde & had a TS way back then for stuff they had me do in Viet Nam. After they told me I was being considered for a TS, I filled out a form to provide more info, then a bunch of agents, I guess some from FBI, contacted most of my associates going back to high school, summer jobs, family, friends, teachers, banks/CU's and local PD's. I guess their reaction would be - "what has he done now". A hang up occurred when they got to my university days - I attended a large state university populated by super liberal radical socialists. Another brief hang up occurred when they got into my family being of foreign origin combined with mother's sister married some mid east guy. Some time after the process started a distant relative employed by one of our major intelligence agencies took me out for lunch after chatting with my shipboard CO.
I remember having a contact with a FBI agent who was working on a security clearance for our landlord's relative - he asked me if the guy acted "normal"
After all this I got a job offer from the intelligence agency - I turned it down.
I would never ever make an unauthorized deal with anyone. I only looked at stuff that I needed to see. I saw lots of stupid stuff but never saw any thing that could be called traitorous (I never directly delt with flag rank people).
I doubt DJT could/would issue a permanent TS (six month limit, to be compartmented), abolish established procedure, & block removal for good reason, but he sure could revoke a TS with good reason, like perjury, willfully attesting to fake events - a different process.
DJT is our commander in chief and has powers delegated to him like executive orders, designed to expedite a process, and these are subject to judicial review, Read about FDR's actions during WWII.
