To Hot To Handle

DPMS 308LR,Ejected brass is so hot(temperature)I have to wait awhile before it can be picked with bare hands.I am using factory loads and am not shooting rapid fire.Is this normal for a AR?

Hot cases aren't limited to autos, it's just more noticeable from them due to the rapid ejection. There was a fire in there you know

I've noticed that same thing with every AR I've owned (3) and on a Mini-14 too. Also noticed it on some semi auto handguns. Can't say I ever noticed it on a bolt action rifle, lever action rifle or a revolver though.
